if he broke up with you...
the reason why I would start a new relationship shortly is because I want to move on and try new things with other people...basically to break away from old habits and "start from new."  Sometimes its a break up to "see whats out there."  If their new relationship or fling doesn't work out, they most likely would crawl back to you.  Or, the worst reason...he cheated on you during the relationship and he already had someone else he liked, so he broke up with you to be with that person.

if you broke up with him...
it would be for a rebound, basically again, to forget about you, and not be hurt by the break up.  I would assume that he would treat her very similar to how he treated you because he is still used to the relationship.

This is how I see it, in my own view, if I were him.

Alot of times when not just guys but girls to do that is to move on or even to make you jealous and sometimes its to see what they want. it helps some people to find out if they really want to get back with their ex or move on. its a rebound alot of girls do it becaose they are vulnerable(spelling?) and justwant someone to love and care avbout and vise versa. hope this helps big_smile
